Nocturna Response is an out-of-hours emergency incident guidance service providing verbal and written guidance to Customers experiencing a suspected or confirmed Priority 1 (P1) incident.
The service is designed to support decision-making, triage, and containment planning during critical incidents and does not include hands-on remediation or ongoing operational support.
Nocturna Response may be used for guidance relating to:
- Suspected or confirmed cyber security incidents (including ransomware indicators, account compromise, data breach indicators)
- Major service outages impacting critical systems
- Widespread authentication, network, or infrastructure failures
- Any event reasonably believed by the Customer to constitute a P1 incident
Nocturna reserves the right to reclassify incidents that do not meet P1 criteria.
Where Nocturna Response is invoked:
- A suitably skilled engineer will provide verbal guidance to the Customer or its appointed MSP
- Guidance may include:
-- incident validation and severity confirmation
-- immediate containment recommendations
-- actions to avoid escalation or evidence destruction
-- high-level next steps and escalation options
- A written incident summary may be provided following the interaction
All guidance is provided on a best endeavours basis.
- Service availability: 24/7 (or defined out-of-hours window, if you want flexibility)
- Response targets are best endeavours only and do not constitute guaranteed SLAs
Nocturna Response does not include:
- Hands-on technical remediation
- System configuration changes
- Log-in to Customer systems
- Vendor or third-party engagement
- Forensic investigation
- Evidence acquisition or preservation beyond verbal guidance
- Regulatory, legal, or insurance representation
- Business continuity or disaster recovery execution
- Ongoing incident management
Any such services require a separate Incident Response or Extended Coverage agreement.
Nocturna Response is intended for occasional emergency use.
Where usage is deemed excessive or indicative of a requirement for managed or incident response services, Nocturna may recommend migration to an alternative service offering.
Nocturna Response provides expert guidance during critical incidents. Where hands-on action is required, customers can seamlessly escalate into Nocturna Incident Response for active containment, remediation, and recovery.
